Where to begin…

In any circumstance where there is healing taking place, there will be feelings. Feelings of anything. It could be happiness, anger, sadness, or a big, cumulative expression of intensity. Sometimes, that can be the battering ram required for people to settle themselves into a more stable relationship with the world around them, so they can begin to focus more adequately inward.

Our relationships extend from the plants and the trees into the hearts of animals—the bees, the birds, the elk in some parts of the world, or the butterflies and gardeners in other parts of the world. It is a fabric of weaving and tapestry that we like to feel into when there is more going on than the world can fathom. We get down on our hands and knees and work with the land. We sing, we play, and we dance—not because it is the energy of the current moment, but because it is an alignment with a legacy of devotion and intention.

There are so many energies in the world that want our hearts aligned with who we really are that it can feel tumultuous at times, especially when we are moving through these energetic fluxes of healing. With that said, when we settle ourselves into a consistent presence, sometimes those energy fluxes begin to dive beneath these underqualified expressions of ideas in our heads and burst through the atmosphere into the energetic connection with the root of who we really are.

When I was a younger man, I used to connect deeply with what it meant to be a healer. I thought it would bring all sorts of productivity and usefulness, but it also carried a heavier degree of alignment in terms of my physical expression of who I am and who I was.

There was a lot of negative identity wrapped up in what it meant to be a healer.

There are a million ways to embody healing, and sometimes it depends on the human being and how they are able to wield their lessons and their light. I like to think of it as a human being connecting to their divinity in a way that can be beautifully expressed—where the emotion being connected to in the moment of expression becomes the real emblem of positivity.

There is no right or wrong in this aspect. When we step forward and declare our energetic expression in this way, we are able to harness our joy, our sorrow, or our expression of healing, even when it is riddled with anger.

I think anger is probably the most underacknowledged energy of all our spiritual voicings. It can be one of those forms of healing where we become so angry at the energies that are forging the way for others that, through our own voice and in our own minds, we can actually knock them off their pedestal. They then begin to fall away in a spiritual sense.

The best part of knowing who you are and not caring what comes up in the moment is when that knowing exists in solidarity with the rest of the world. When we can feel so committed to our inner voice that there is nothing more enlightening than giving voice to those who are unheard or underserved, in the ways the world can help us feel at home or at peace.

It is a voice of connection to the underpinnings of our relationship with heaven, earth, God, and divinity—but not through the self-righteous, sanctimonious energies of the institutionalization of Christ and so forth. Rather, it is about the actuality of who we are in terms of our ability to heal, move, and create.

As life begins anew, I like to give thanks to the world around me, the voice inside me, and the hearts of the people in the places and in the hearts where they are meant to be.

I say this because there are millions of others in this phase of our work who want to be “other.” They want to avoid. They want to stay in a zone of comfort where there are no questions or concerns.

We play and we sing not because it is an idea of becoming some sort of “success,” but because, like the birds and animals that give voice to the spirit of emotion, we are able to bring those emotions to the forefront of our contextualization of the world—and then face them.

Deal with them.

Show them that we are no longer hiding or afraid.

I will deal with my emotions. I will deal with my pain. I will deal with them so that my heart can heal, my body can heal, and my soul can express who I am in every possible way I can.

It is a voice from the heart of the soul to the world around us, saying that we are not only listening to the pain and the voicing of dissonance, but that we are actively fighting against this collective dissonance in a way that allows us to subdue and disperse it.

If you are actively fighting against the dissonance in your life and the pain it can cause when it goes unchecked, then you are part of this message. You are one of the people giving voice to what is important in the world.

When we run, we try to pretend. But if we stay, then we are able to face it. And if we face it, then we are able to clear it.

When I connect to my heart, I know I am here. When I connect to my spirit, it knows I am here. And when I connect to the biggest, most inherited connection to my existence, I am able to connect to the guidance of all the ancestral roots and connections that I carry in my heart and my soul.

Then I am able to ground my body into a state of absolute balance.

There is nothing that can shake me.

I am one with the world around me, and the rest of the world will have to get in line to understand.
